Job Description:

Administrative Project Coordinator
$23.00 per hour to start plus excellent company-sponsored benefits
Western Suburbs of Chicago, IL - Batavia Area

As an Administrative Project Coordinator you will:

- Provide assistance and support to the Senior Buyer and the Purchasing Department
- Handle a group of assigned products and product categories
- Coordinate and administer all purchasing projects and processes
- Send out Requests for Proposals [RFPs] to outside suppliers
- Receive completed bids and proposals
- Prepare bids for the review process
- Enter bid details into the company database
- Request product samples from suppliers as needed
- Coordinate product taste tests and other quality assurance processes
- Provide feedback on product packaging, artwork and labeling projects
- Coordinate travel on behalf of the Senior Buyer
- Prepare all required meeting materials
- Draft routine and special correspondence and reports
- Provide additional support to the Corporate and Divisional Buying Teams when needed
- Assist with Special Projects as required

An ideal candidate profile will include:

- At least 2 years of Administrative Office, Project Coordination, Operations Support, Marketing and/or Sales Support, Purchasing or similar/related experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in any major

And:

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Comfort with data, spreadsheets and reports

With:

- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Computational math skills
- Strategic planning and critical thinking skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail

Pluses:

- Experience within a purchasing department and/or experience supporting the purchasing process +++
- Experience with RFPs, bids, proposals and/or contract administration process +++
- Related experience from the food, beverage, grocery industry or similar +++
