Purchasing Coordinator / Junior Buyer
Special Project - Up to $29.00 per hour

As a Purchasing Coordinator and Junior Buyer you will:

- Support all procurement activities
- Generate purchase orders
- Maintain all manual and electronic documentation and file systems
- Participate in supplier sourcing
- Investigate unique supplier specialties and expertise
- Assist with supplier selection
- Issue 'Request for Quotations' to suppliers
- Negotiate supplier pricing and payment terms
- Develop alternative supplier recommendations as appropriate
- Drive savings, while adhering to established quality standards
- Collaborate with internal teams to reduce and/or optimize spend on raw materials
- Conduct periodic supplier audits
- Resolve non-conformance as they arise
- Participate in ISO 9000 activities
- Implement Vendor Managed Inventory [VMI] programs
- Produce routine and special reports
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts
- Provide backup support to the Department as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

An ideal candidate profile will include:

- At least 2 years of Administrative Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing, Procurement, Buyer or similar / related / relevant experience

- Strong Administrative skills
- Knowledge of purchasing processes and procedures
- Knowledge of internal controls
- Project management skills
- Above average MS Office skills

With:

- Effective communication skills
- Negotiation skills
- Analytical skills
- Comfort with numbers, spreadsheets and reports
- Organization and attention to detail

This is a Special Project that includes a full-time contract of indefinite length with the potential for 'direct-hire' within 2020.
