HR Assistant / Payroll Coordinator
Up to $40,000 to start plus full company-sponsored benefits
North Suburbs - Vernon Hills

As the HR Assistant and Payroll Coordinator, your job duties and responsibilities will include:

- Performing all payroll functions
- Maintaining the ADP Workforce Now payroll system and updating payroll records accordingly
- Collecting and inputting data from time sheets, production records and individual time cards
- Verifying pay, withholdings and deductions, prior to paycheck distribution
- Balancing payroll runs
- Determining payroll liabilities
- Calculating and tracking vacation, holiday and sick / personal time
- Assisting internal employees in the case of medical emergencies
- Assisting the HR Manager with the recruitment process
- Performing reference and background checks
- Conducting new employee orientations and administering new hire paperwork
- Preparing internal employee communications
- Creating, distributing and gathering employee surveys
- Maintaining the performance evaluation tracking system for all employees
- Answering employee questions
- Troubleshooting and resolving employee issues
- Performing additional administrative, clerical and employee relations duties as necessary

An ideal candidate profile will include the following experience:

- At least year or more of full time, on-the-job Payroll administration experience

- At least one year or more of full time, on-the-job Human Resources Assistant experience

In addition to the following qualifications:

- Relationship-building and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and follow-up skills
- Accuracy and attention-to-detail in your work
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Accurate data entry skills
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
